The chairman of Banco Santander, Emilio Botin, has opened the Center for Data Protection of the entity located in Santander, an investment of 240 million euros that will generate 250 jobs in 2013. The new center, run by Ascan and Dragados will help to create jobs and enhance the industrial fabric of the Autonomous Region in the current economic crisis and, as Botin has said "Cantabria become a national and international reference of knowledge and technological innovation".
The president of Sadisa Group, Santiago Diaz Diaz, attended the inauguration of the new center, which also featured many authorities, including President of Cantabria, Ignacio Diego.
The mission of the 'bunker' high security of Cantabria is securely store all data and operations for the 100 million customers of Banco Santander made on your accounts, ensuring continuity of service and physically protect all computer systems make it possible.
These two twin building with the last technology and energy infrastructure needed to keep operating autonomously and continuously enrolled in a global network with capacity to process over 10,000 transactions per second.
The Cantabrian center, which joins with the existing in Madrid, London, Sao Paulo (Brazil) and Querétaro (Mexico), will help to increase the efficiency of the group and ensures the growth of its business, as it provides flexibility in incorporating new entities.
Furthermore, this commitment of technology minimizes the operational risk customers, as already demonstrated in the case of natural disasters like the earthquake in Chile, in which, Banco Santander was the only bank in the country that continued operating normally after the quake.
