Ascan president, Santiago Diaz Zabala, spoke at the presentation of the guide and highlighted the quality of the work, the architectural richness of El Astillero and the vocation of SADISA group to support initiatives like this to enhance the training and culture.

The guide, which will be distributed free among the residents of El Astillero, compiles and lists 90 architectural elements that are, by Casado Soto, "living testimonies of the memory of the municipality", and people linked to them.

Among the elements described there are some references that are protected high-level property, such as Orconera loading bay, and the English Bridge, one of the hundred most important industrial heritage of Spain.

The guide's authors also highlight the Electra de Viesgo buildings, offices Astander, several houses from different eras, the Town Hall, the old schools of the waiters in Guarnizo, the food market, Potrañés Cemetery, the Church of San Jose or the old water tank, whose architecture is worthy of review and keep.

The book also reflects the uniqueness of the homes they built for their workers Renfe Guarnizo, and the most recent architecture has exponents in the Shipyard, as the chimneys of the Cantabrian, the store of the Arts, Fondon and even the housing units for Calle Marques de la Ensenada.
